Pickups: I can install the pickup(s) of your choice. My favorite: Bob Hoffnar's Tonealigner, an excellent humbucker. If you must have a single coil I would go with one of Jason Lollar's.

Wood: Hard maple is the industry standard for very good reasons. But just about any kind of wood can be used.

Formica: I don’t use it. Only natural wood with clear gloss oil base polyurethane finish.
